Letter to Delegates January 2015.

Happy New Year. 2015 promises to be an exciting time for our diocese as we progress further along the road together that is Limerick Diocesan Synod 2016.

Dear Delegate,

Happy New Year. 2015 promises to be an exciting time for our diocese as we progress further along the road together that is Limerick Diocesan Synod 2016.

Saturday 31st January:

The next gathering of delegates will take place on Saturday 31st January in The Limerick Radisson Hotel. The day runs from 10a.m. to 5p.m.

Spring 2015:

The next phase of the process involves discernment and listening in which delegates will be asked to enter into a process of discernment with the communities they represent. As a delegate you will receive initial training on January 31st but there will also be one follow-up meeting for delegates who will gather on a regional or area basis. This will provide an opportunity to ensure delegates feel that you have the skills and strategies to carry out the task. Delegates will also have a panel of ‘support people’ available to them who act as support when you begin discernment with the communities they represent.

The Follow-up Meeting of Delegates from parishes after 31st January are arranged as follows:

  • Meeting of delegates from City parishes Tues 17th Feb 8p.m. LDO
  • Meeting of delegates from Western parishes Weds 18th Feb 8p.m. NCW
  • Meeting of delegates from Southern parishes Thurs 19th Feb 8p.m. Kilmallock

I will be contacting delegates from the other constituent communities in the coming weeks to arrange your follow-up meeting.
